St James has a close relationship with the Antony Pinchbeck Endowed Church of England Primary School in the neighbouring village of Butterwick. The "Reverend Andrew" leads the school assembly in worship at least once a week. The school choir have actively participated in our Christmas tree festival each year. We host the school music festival and the key stage 2 carol concerts. The scale of the church enables us to accommodate both children and parents on large occasions.
The school have been fantastic supporters of our 900th anniversary, on the 5th March years 5 and 6 both went to Crowland Abbey to re-enact the founding ceremony of the church in 1114. This involved the founder placing endowments upon bricks which were laid into the wall of the Abbey. The day gave the children a first class appreciation of their local heritage, the history of the church and its interaction with the community.
The PCC also elect two governors and the incumbent is an ex-officio member of the governing body. The school has an expanding roll of 260 pupils. For more details, please follow the link to the school website www.butterwick.lincs.sch.uk.
